Darren Hunt, a reporter from KVIA, the local ABC affiliate in El Paso, Texas and photographer Ric DuPont were arrested by a police officer for trying to get interviews after a wreck .
The video speaks for itself.
Hunt and DuPont were charged with “interference with public duties” but were released based on “validty of the charge not being sound,” according to the El Paso Times.
The Times also reports that Chief Greg Allen said that Sgt. Raul Ramirez overreacted and has been placed on desk duty while an investigation is conducted.
Yet another case of overzealous, gestapo-like officers abusing their power and attacking the innocent.

I dare this man ? the local Gestapo, I mean law enforcement. This man must understand that freedom of the press is only allowed when THEY tell us it is allowed.

This is the charge was dropped:

And this looks like what Hunt and Dupont can go after the knuckle-dragging skinhead thug with:

If Hunt and Dupont *don’t* litigate that guy out of a job, they deserve the beating they got in the first place.
